EMMY is Emmy Hartman, a 23-year-old artist from Cleveland, Ohio. Many people first encountered Emmy in 2017 when she inadvertently went viral as "the girl who filmed her own emotional breakdown" after receiving a traffic ticket on her way to a concert. Wrote journalist Peyton Thomas: "For all the theorizing about how social media pushes us into panopticism and impels us to smooth out our imperfections, Hartman's live broadcast from rock bottom was met not with scorn, but, like… love."
After years of tantalizing her 3M+ followers on TikTok with acapella covers of Lorde and Billie Eilish, Emmy made her first music debut. "STUPID BIG TEETH" was co-written with celebrated songwriter Amy Allen (Harry Styles, Halsey). While Hartman has only released 1 track so far, she's garnered attention from some of her personal heros like 1975's Matty Healy, Haley Williams, and Taylor Swift.
Almost one year later Emmy is back with her new single COOL GIRL. The track that Hartman describes as a corny pop anthem, is an ear-worm that asks the question " What does it even mean to be cool?".
